Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist will primarily lead, develop and drive the implementation of the strategic talent management objectives to attract, select, onboard and retain engaged Associates for NSI. 

Our ideal Human Resources Generalist will have a passion and the knowledge for many entities within an HR Department to include talent sourcing, benefits, associate relations and some payroll functions.

   Expectations of the Role:

        

  • Administers human resource policies and procedures for Recruiting and HR Administration.
  • Composes ads, conducts interviews, administers pre-screening assessments, runs backgrounds and reference checks, prepares candidates’ portfolios for final interviews and handles all aspects of job offers. 
  • Processes paperwork for new hires and maintains other Human Resource programs such as the Applicant Tracking program, Affirmative Action and I9 everification.
  • Prepares and conducts Onboarding and ensures associates are acclimated to NSI policies and culture.
  • Assists in the annual AA reporting by collecting data, filing reports and addressing any goals. 
  • Builds all new hires/rehires in payroll and helps to maintain any changes and updates to the payroll codes. 
  • Stays abreast of any employment law changes at the federal and state levels.  Continuously researches HR policies, procedures, and alternative options to each of the HR processes.
  • Provides additional coverage to each area of HR by learning and being capable to cover and back up payroll, benefits, and any associate relation issues.
  • Calculates pay changes and is involved in the performance evaluation program administration. 
  • Assists with benefit invoice reconciliation or month end reports, aids with FMLA and Worker’s Compensation tracking and administration and helps with benefit enrollments. 
  • Works closely with the HR Director to assist with any HR initiatives and associate relation issues. 
  • Collaborates side by side with the HR team to accomplish the completion of any project work and overall HR goals.

 

 

Skills and Experience we like to see:

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Resources is required.   PHR certification is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of Corporate Talent Acquisition/ Recruitment experience.
  • Strong knowledge in the interviewing and selection process with general overall HR knowledge and experience in several of the HR entities (benefits, payroll, associate relations) being a plus.     
  •  Strong computer skills in MS office and Applicant Tracking Programs is required.
  • The ability to uphold confidentiality and present oneself in a professional manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize.
  • Prior knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Human Resource field. 

 

   Occasional Travel is required for this position!
